AREAS OF

EXPERTISE

I specialize in providing individual therapy for a wide range of clients, offering support tailored to your unique emotional, educational, and social challenges. My therapeutic approach blends my experiences as a secondary school principal, special education expert, and art therapist, ensuring a holistic and personalized treatment plan for each individual.

Individual Therapy:

My focus is on providing individual therapy that is compassionate, insightful, and effective. Whether you are a teen, parent, teacher, or someone navigating life's complex emotional landscape, I provide a safe, supportive space for you to explore your feelings, gain clarity, and find practical solutions to your challenges.

For teens, I help manage issues such as anxiety, depression, identity exploration, and navigating school and social pressures. For parents, I offer strategies to support their children’s mental health and strengthen family relationships. For teachers and school staff, I provide support in managing the stresses and emotional demands of the profession, helping them avoid burnout and improve work-life balance.

This therapy is deeply individualized to meet the unique needs of each person, and I work collaboratively with clients to achieve lasting personal growth.

Special Education Navigation:

As a Special Education expert, I help families and individuals navigate the often complex system of Special Education services. This includes guiding parents through psycho-educational assessments, creating and understanding Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), and advocating for students' educational needs. I also assist with the transition to post-secondary education, helping students with special needs plan for their future academic success.

Support for Discrimination, Racism, Ableism, and LGBTQ+ Issues:

I provide therapy for individuals dealing with the effects of discrimination, racism, ableism, and LGBTQ+ issues. Drawing from both personal and professional experience, I offer support in navigating and healing from the trauma and emotional strain caused by systemic oppression. This therapy helps individuals find strength in their identities, build resilience, and break free from the emotional burdens of marginalization.

Art Therapy as a Tool for Healing:

Through Art Therapy, I provide an outlet for creative expression and emotional healing. Art Therapy helps clients process complex emotions and trauma in a non-verbal way, allowing them to connect with their inner selves through drawing, painting, and other visual art forms. This approach is particularly beneficial for individuals dealing with anxiety, depression, trauma, and grief, offering a therapeutic alternative to traditional talk therapy.

Family and Attachment Work:

Attachment and family dynamics are central to emotional well-being. I work with families and individuals to explore their attachment styles and how these relational patterns influence their behaviour and relationships. By helping families address attachment-based trauma and strengthen communication, I aim to build more secure, trusting relationships that promote healing and growth.

Career Counselling and Job Preparation:

I also provide career counselling to support individuals navigating the workplace, whether it’s preparing for a job change, building skills for career advancement, or dealing with workplace stress. This can be integrated into therapy services, providing clients with the tools they need to thrive in their professional lives, while also addressing any underlying emotional challenges that may be affecting their work performance.
